TC –A Day Too Late

How to save your relationship!

A Day Too Late This is a song I started writing two years ago on the airplane going to my best friends funeral in New York. I met Tom in 1982,he and his twin brother Dominick had opened a leather shop in my hometown,Huntington,NY. We quickly became friends. He was my best man at my wedding (here in STL). I called Tom one day and found out that he had bladder cancer. He had gone through extensive treatment, and had his bladder rebuilt. He hadn’t called during this time as he didn’t want to burden me with it. He called in June of 2007,and sounded terrible, but always confident that he would beat the cancer. I followed his progress via facebook, and his blog. Then I got a call from a friend who said that if I wanted to see Tom I should come now. I made my travel plans, and got a phone call the morning I was leaving from that same friend say that Tom had died. A Day Too Late. My friend Don Brown, wrote the music, and recorded the song which was completed a few days ago. Since you cannot share music on Facebook,I created a slide show video from some pictures on Tom’s facebook page. It is my hope that I can get some pictures from Casey and Chris so that I can make a better video, that really shows who Tom was. Hopefully I captured some of him in my lyrics. Lyrics:Once there was a man A man with a ready smile A man who was genuine Who shared his life with us,for a while He had friends Friends across the whole land His family just smiled…They were members of his band
